Teaching Philosophy

Cassandra Hansen prides herself on providing students with well-rounded musical education, encompassing a variety of styles and methods. She provides a nurturing and comfortable environment for students to reach their full musical potential. Every music lesson is individually tailored to the student's goals and musical endeavours, thus achieving success.

She teaches students from beginner up to diploma level. Her resources cover repertoire from Classical, Piano For Leisure, Contemporary, Jazz and Pop. Cassandra's students receive many awards with Honours (A) and High Distinctions with the AMEB exams and have gained entry into the Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. 

Her studios are clean, safe and she provides a welcoming environment for our students to learn in. Parents are more than welcome to sit in on their child's music lesson. Term Recitals are also offered as a performance opportunity for all of her students.

Cassandra holds a wealth of music performance and teaching. Her teaching expertise allows students to strive for their goals with her friendly and supportive teaching approach. She knows the importance of setting the correct technical facility to help make playing effortless and enjoyable. Cassandra's dedication to music education allows her to create a nurturing environment that inspires her students to love music and learning as much as she does.

Her teaching highlights comprise of her students winning eisteddfods at the Redlands Eisteddfod, Beenleigh Eisteddfod and MusicFest. Cassandra’s students also received many AMEB Honours and High Distinctions grading awards.

After graduating from Brisbane State High School, Cassandra received the prestigious Sir Samuel Griffith Academic of Excellence Scholarship to study a Bachelor of Music (Advanced Performance) at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. She graduated as a Griffith Honours College Scholar (Academic Excellence, Leadership and Community Engagement) and attends Professional Development Conferences at AUSTA (Australian Strings Association), holds membership with Griffith Honours Society and Golden Key International Honour Society.

Cassandra began her musical studies on piano at the tender age of five, then she very quickly expanded her abilities by taking on the violin and cello. This led to forming the highly successful trio with her sisters, The Hansen Trio www.hansentrio.com which was established in 2004 in Brisbane. From the international stages of Germany, Russia and China, Cassandra has performed as a soloist receiving many standing ovations and stunning reviews. She also regularly performs as a electric string trio with Maske Trio www.maskemusic.com as a guest entertainer across luxurious international cruise ships as well as launching new products overseas in Hong Kong, Malaysia, French Polynesia and America.

You'll see Cassandra performing on her beloved handmade violin and cello by Ilja Grawert, and she still regularly performs with her sisters in The Hansen Trio.
